November 4, 2020 by Sharon

View from my walk/run yesterday.

Here is a list of things piquing my interest on this Peak of the Week! It’s not Hump Day, it’s Wednesday! It’s all downhill from here!

Big Announcement:

I’m doing a Christmas Décor post on December 5th my mother’s birthday. She is amazing at decorating, and I want to do that to honor her. I’d love to share pictures from your home so that we can all get new ideas. Please send me pictures by Monday, Dec 1st. You can send pictures from last year if you don’t have your house decorated by then. It will be fun for all to share some of their favorite ways to decorate!!! Please send pictures to sharon@nowchooselife.net. I look forward to sharing your beautiful homes!!

piquing my interest
Yesterday was a beautiful day to be outside and clear my head!!

I walked/ran 5 miles yesterday. It was an extraordinarily beautiful day. I’m sharing some pictures from my journey of prayer and clearing my head!!

Here’s What’s Piquing My Interest!

Why Politics Overwhelms Everything– One person I heard from about my Middle Seat blog post was a former pastor. It meant the world to me to hear from him. He shared this article with me because he says it goes along with how I’m feeling. If you feel overwhelmed, this might help you understand.

Strand Bookstore receives 25,000 orders– The Strand Bookstore was one of the first places that my daughter took me the first time I visited her after she moved to NYC. It’s a beautiful bookstore full of one of my favorite things… books! COVID-19 almost caused it to close. My daughter shared an article about how much it was hurting a few weeks ago. Then this happened… people started ordering books from them to help the stay afloat!! I love people (sometimes).

If you would like to order from them click HERE. It looks like they have had to stop online ordering for now because they’ve had so many orders. Be sure to check back. My daughter bought my Christmas gifts there one year after I moved to New Mexico. Different journals and other writing accessories. She was encouraging me to WRITE!! Be sure to check back with them if you want different gifts this year.

5 Series Coming To Netflix In November That Are Definitely Worth The Binge— I’m so excited about this list! I’m most excited about an 8 episode RomCom called Dash and Lily. It takes place in NYC- perfect!!

Physical Effects of Grief– Yes- grief effects us physically. Besides losing over 10 pounds within the first week of my husband passing away. My menstrual cycle went crazy too. I became extremely ill the week before the one year anniversary of his passing. With the holidays approaching, grief can be magnified for many. I hope this article helps!!

Target Holly Jolly– I spent quite a bit of time looking through the Holly Jolly collection from Target yesterday. Most items are $5.00- so many cute things!

Target Candles– I’m also loving the big selections of candles from Target!!

Christopher Radko at Target– I’ve collected Christophe Radko Christmas decorations for years. I love that Target carries some of his items.

Anthropologie Candles– My favorite place to shop is Anthropologie. I love looking at the eclectic clothes. I LOVE finding new books- the collection is incredible. I also love to buy candles. If you are looking for a great gift for someone, buy a candle from Anthro!!

What I’m Reading– 28 Summers I’m halfway through with this book. I’m loving it!!

What I’m Watching– The Voice Dr. T and I love to watch The Voice together. He loves music, and we enjoy going to live music venues together. Since we can’t do anything live right now, The Voice fills that void. Plus, it’s good and clean. You can’t find that very much anymore!!

What I’m concentrating on– (yes I know I’ve ended that with a preposition). Christmas… I’m thinking of how I’m going to decorate for Christmas. No one but me and Dr. T will see it, but I’m going to make the house as cozy as possible for the two of us. How about you have your started decorating for Christmas yet? Have you started thinking of decorating for Christmas yet?

I’m excited to see your Christmas decor post. I’m not very good at holiday decorating – mostly because I don’t want to spend money on it. But I love being in someone else’s holiday decorated home. Looking forward to this!
