What’s saving my life right now? The outdoors! I love to be outside. These zinnias are bringing so much joy to my life! I’m so thankful for nature!
Hello! I feel like I need to reintroduce myself! It’s been a while since I’ve posted because it’s been a while since I’ve felt any desire to write.
Let me give you a life update! May and June were crazy months with quite a bit of travel. We got back home on July 6th. On Saturday, July 8th, we’d been working in the yard and had just sat down for lunch when my husband said that he thought with the odd symptoms he’d been having for several days and the new symptoms he was experiencing, he should probably go to the emergency room. He was having a heart attack. He was air lifted to Santa Fe and got immediate care.
I have so much I can say about this turn of events, but for today and for this post, I will just say, Thank You, God! I believe that God is in control over our lives, and I believe there were angels with us on that Saturday. God’s plan was for Dr. T to go on putting up with me and all that that entails! I am a grateful, thankful woman!
I’m still processing the emotions that come with having a 2nd husband suffer a heart attack. My first (late) husband was not so fortunate. I know all too well that bad things happen. But for us, at this time, we are blessed beyond measure.
So to get back on track, and even though it isn’t the middle of the month, I’m sharing all things piquing my interest. It just seems like the right post to use to get back on my writing horse and publish something out into the world wide web! Here it is— all things I’m finding of interest these days.
Things Piquing My Interest
Happiness Hacks– I can’t remember where I found this article, but I’m so glad I saved it in this draft that was supposed to go out in June! Everything you want to know about helping with your happiness is here.
Broadway Bound Musical- The Outsiders-Angelina Jolie is set to be one of the producers of the musical version of one of the most popular YA books! It was a favorite of mine in junior high!
Miraculous Blueberry Muffins-As you can imagine, Dr. T and I are watching what we eat after his heart attack! We ate a fairly clean diet before, but now we are really concentrating on staying as consistent as possible! This muffin is only 1 point for Weight Watchers.
An Instagram Account I truly enjoy following!

Bird Buddy– I’m loving my Bird Buddy. The pictures are great, and it brings me so much joy! I’m also learning a lot about the birds in my area!

What I’m Reading
Here’s The Deal- A Memoir– I’m fascinated with peoples’ response to Donald Trump so I’ve read almost every book published about his presidency. This book is more than just Kellyanne Conway’s years with Trump. She tells of her background too. Although I don’t agree with her exact account of events, I did enjoy her candor of what it’s like to work in a “man’s world.”

One Italian Summer-My daughter recommended this book. I’m only a few chapters in, but so far I really like it- well all except that the main characters mother has just died!
Tell Me Everything by Minka Kelly- Again, I’m reading on my daughter’s recommendation. I was invited to her book club for this book where Minka was supposed to join in, but they just found out that Minka will be out of the country and can’t make it. I love memoir. Her story is one of perseverance. She goes from working in a strip club in Albuquerque, New Mexico (how low can you go?) to starring in a top rated TV show.
The Daddy Diaries by Andy Cohen- IYKYK I’ve read every book that Andy has ever written. Yes, I’m a trash TV watcher, and I love Andy Cohen! In the same way that Andy Warhal wrote his diary about his life, Cohen has taken another year and shared it with his fans. I love that he refers to his son Ben as Benice The Menace. It’s such a great book showcasing Ben!
First Women-I loved the book Upstairs at the White House, and this book about our modern first ladies didn’t disappoint either! It’s a great read.
What I’m Watching
Traveling Robert– We just can’t get enough of Robert, a Cuban American who travels around the country in an RV. This season he’s traveling around Alaska, and I can’t get enough.
Succession– If rich families are all like this one, I don’t want anything to do with wealth! We are only in the first season. Love the scenes in Santa Fe!
And Just Like That– I can’t get a link from HBO Max, but I’m still following Carrie Bradshaw maneuver life as a widow in the sequel to Sex and the City.
What I’m Concentrating On
Fall- I’m falling into fall over here! I started getting out my fall decor and can’t wait for pumpkin spice and all the things that come with it. Fall is my favorite season. And, here is something just for you who are still reading this post to know– I’m going to NYC in the fall!! I’ve already planned most of the trip. I simply can’t wait.
My book- yes, I don’t talk about it very much, but I’m writing a book. It’s a prayer journal! I want to be finished by Christmas.

What Can I Do When I Friend Loses A Loved One– I shared this with someone recently who reached out to me. It’s the story of some of the things people did for me after the death of my first husband.
I really enjoyed “One Italian Summer”. I am so sorry that you and your husband had to experience such a terrible illness but GOD is good . It is a blessing that he is okay now. I am journaling now because I am having a family problem that I have no control over and writing helps me when I really want to cry. I will pray for your husband’s continued good health!
Thank you so much, Judy! I’m sorry you have a family issue going on. I’m glad writing helps you too. It’s hard to deal with so much that is out of our control! Thanks so much for following me all these years. It means so much to me. And thank you for your prayers for my husband. He’s doing really well, and we sure want to keep it that way!
