Things Piquing My Interest #86

September 21, 2022 by Sharon

My front yard in Texas!

Happy (late) Peak of the Week and Peak of the Month. I love sharing things piquing my interest with you! I should have gotten this post out last week, but I was in Texas and it was a fast paced visit! I’m back now. Back to my new morning routine so I’m starting to feel more like myself.

I have several things piquing my interest. What’s piquing yours? I’d love to hear!!

Since I just got back from Texas, I’ll be sharing all the pictures from the trip.

This is the thing I’m most excited about this month. This video is a tour of Scott Formby’s home. Scott is from my hometown– local boy does good! He was older than me so we were never in high school together, but we attended the same church. He was living in NYC when my daughter was looking for a summer internship in college, and wanting to move there when she graduated. Scott graciously answered her questions in an email. I LOVE his home!!

An Oklahoma teacher gave her students access to banned books. Now she’s under scrutiny– As a former librarian, I should write a post on what I believe about book banning, but that is for another time. This article is very sad to me!

25 Years Later, Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s Wedding Dress Still Stuns– I love everything about his wedding. It was the inspo for my wedding in 2015- I got married in a small country church. Carolyn’s dress was the inspiration for my daughters wedding dress. I can’t wait to write my post about my daughter’s wedding. We are still waiting on pictures.

Take This Epic Road Trip To See The 11 Volcanoes That Shaped New Mexico– As much as I love my home state of Texas, I do admit that I fall more in love with New Mexico as time goes by. I’m ready for this road trip!

Always fun with my mom!

What I’m Reading

This book is written by the author of Julie and Julia. I’m so intrigued by Eleanor Roosevelt’s life. It’s been a good read.

What We Are Watching

All Creatures Great and Small– PBS Masterpiece Theatre can’t be beat! Such a great story and the landscapes in the scenes are amazing!

What I’m Listening To

All There Is– Anderson Cooper’s podcast about grief. He is going through his mother’s apartment in order to sell it. This one is going to stay with me for a while.

Area Where I’m Concentrating My Energy

I’m decorating for fall and my house is a huge mess. I’m hosting a bible study at my house next week so I’ve got a deadline to get it all done!!

Things Piquing My Interest #89. Wow- 89 posts of sharing things that are of interest to me seem impossible, but I’ve been doing this for quite some time. 2023 Has One Goal

2023 has one goal. Be Healthier. That’s it. All I want for 2023 is to be healthier version of myself at the end of the year than I am at the beginning. Although it’s an easy phrase, it’s pack with so much meaning for me. Of course, I want to be healthier physically, but I’m […]
