Here are some things piquing my interest on this blustery, cold day in the mountains of New Mexico.
Honestly, the thing I’m loving most is my little town and all of its beauty this time of year. The mountains are a sea of gold, and I can’t get enough of it. I walked with friends this morning and we loved seeing all the color.

One thing that isn’t great are these packs of coyotes. They left us alone on our walk, but we did warn a woman running with her dog that they were ahead of her. She ended up going the other way. These packs are known to attack dogs- even on leashes.

This picture was recently sent by our homeowners association. This bobcat chased down this squirrel through a neighbor’s yard and caught it in the street. We had an email about a mountain lion roaming through the neighborhood last night. There are always bear sightings!! I live in a happenin place!!
Things Piquing My Interest
First, this Peak of the Week Post is piquing my interest. I love doing this post, but like all posts, it take a lot of time. I’m thinking of moving it from weekly to monthly. So it will the not only the Peak of the Week, but also, the Peak of the Month as I will try to get it out mid month every time. I just have something else on which I need to spend more time each week.
Also- a big Thank You to those of you who have recently bought some items from me. Believe me, I don’t make very much money at all, but it is fun to have these affiliate links and figure it all out. I’m hoping all that I’m learning and new things I’m doing will help ward off dementia!! But buying from my links makes me feel so good so thanks for the support!
Making Space- Hoda Kotb Podcast– This link should take you to her interview with Maria Shriver and Oprah. They talk about their 42 year friendship. I was so touched by it that i sent it to a dear friend. They talked about being able to trust the other one. I feel so blessed to have a friend who has never betrayed what I have told her. That means more to me than anything, and I feel there are very few people that you could say that about!!
Be sure to check out her other podcasts. I’ve loved them. The one with Michael Todd is so good, I sent it to my kids. I hope they listened to it!!
Let’s talk about eyebrows!! I always joke that I now have the eyebrows of a 94 year old man. They are just weird and grow in all directions now that I’m older. I ordered some products from Sephora a while back and got Kosas Air Brow as a free gift. I have been amazed at the wonders it has worked on my brows.
They sent me medium brown and it is the perfect color for my brows. It holds them into place AND I have a couple of grey hairs in my brows– shocking I know! It covers those lighter hairs with one stroke. It really is amazing!! I love it.
What To Put On Your Kitchen Counter– So often my kitchen decor vibe is just CLUTTER. I really plan on using these 8 hacks to work on making my kitchen counters what I know they can be!
20 Fall Cocktails– Just looking at these beautiful pictures will get you in the mood for fall. Of course they can all be made without alcohol if you choose. I never considered myself a “cocktail” person until my daughter introduces me to an Aperol Spritz while she was living with us for a few months. I’m hooked on that cocktail. I guess I should try some others.

Cream Cheese Swirled Cinnamon Pumpkin Butter Bread– Every single work of the title of this recipe caught my eye— cream cheese- cinnamon- butter- bread What isn’t to love. I’m making this next weekend. My husband and I have been on a low carb diet. Needless to say, we feel like we are dying! This will make us feel better I’m sure!
Thanksgiving Menu Inspo— Since I’m only doing these link roundups once a month now, I want to include this now. Again, the pictures in this post are so dreamy. I can’t wait to try some of these recipes!
Making It In The Mountains– I also want to share an account I love following. I got several of the links from this post from her weekly roundup too.
My Blogging Group Share
Stacey Lives- In The Kitchen— You may or may not know that I’m in a blogging group with women from all over the country. I have so enjoyed getting to know the ones in my small group!! Stacey is one of these women. She has created all of her recipes! Please follow her. You’ll be glad you did.
What I’m Reading– Anxious People- Can be purchased HERE
A friend recommended it, and I’ve seen it on several lists. It’s good. I love the unusual style of the author’s writing. It’s enough to keep me reading!

What We Are Watching- We are on Season 3 of Yellowstone. I think we are the only people who aren’t crazy about it. It has grown on us. We will watch season 4 when it comes out for sure.
I’m recording Diana on CNN. I love any and all shows or books about the Princess of Wales so of course, I’m recording this.
Area of my home I’m Concentrating On- My bedroom is full of tubs right now. So that means that I’m changing out my closet. If you’ve been following me very long, you know that the closet in the master bedroom of my house is small. I reorganized it during the summer of 2020. I have a system where I only keep seasonal clothes in there. All out of season items are stored in tubs. I have to hand touch every single item I allow back into my closet. It’s been good for me!!
Here is the link to that post- Small Closet Organization
