Things Piquing My Interest #76

September 22, 2021 by Sharon

I live in a beautiful place!

I’m back! Did you miss me? You really don’t have to answer that. I did appreciate hearing from those of you that contacted me during my summer hiatus. It was much needed.

We are experiencing a COOL front today. Ashley Pond won’t look like this in a few weeks. I’m ready for full on FALL! How about you?

It’s Wednesday- The Peak of the Week! That means I’m sharing all things that are piquing my interest right now.

First of all, the thing that is most on my mind is that people are hurting. If you don’t know someone who is hurting right now, I don’t think you keep up with your family or friends!

I spent 3 weeks in Texas and it was good for my soul. Dr. T joined me after a while and we met friends at South Padre Island. We had a blast. No pictures of us with our friends because they are extremely private.

Some sad things happened while I was in Texas! Someone I love had a heart attack, a friend was upset with me, another dear friend passed away! There were some really sad times while I was there. The wonderful thing is that I got to spend quality time with family. I saw my mother and sister more than I have in a very long time. I got to spend time with my son and daughter-in-law. My son is a great cook so I ate way too much! My DIL is just lovely, and I love being around her!!

My biggest take away is still that people are hurting! It’s just a sad time.

So enough about the depressing stuff!!

Things Piquing My Interest

A Talk All Parents Need To Hear— I love this TED talk I found on Facebook. I know many of you are grandmothers. These 5 things are good to know.

19 Books Coming In September– I checked out Beautiful World, Where Are You on my Overdrive app the other night. I need to start it.

Favorite Shirt— I keep thinking about this blouse. I’m trying to decide if it’s worth the cost. It sure is cute! Should I buy it?

What I’m Reading– The Looming Tower– It is also a mini series on Hulu, but my husband read the book before we watched it. He told me, of course, that I really need to read the book. It gives the background to 9/11. How bin Laden got started. Did you know he had a time when he really just wanted to be a farmer. Unfortunately, he didn’t stick with farming. I highly recommend the book and series on Hulu. Book can be purchased HERE.

What I’m Watching– Yay- The Voice is back. It is a great escape around my house.

We just finished Clickbait on Netflix. We thought we had it figured out, but the ending is worth

the not so great show!!

What I’m Concentrating On– I’m slowly bringing out my fall décor. I’m not doing much this year, but I love it so I’m getting out my favorite things.
