Peak Of The Week- It’s Wednesday, Time for things that piqued my interest this week!!

March 29, 2017 by Sharon

Happy Wednesday everyone!! It’s been a busy week. Here are a few things that made me stop and think this week!!

Non-fiction books are my favorite genre. Here is a list of life changing books! These are all short and although some have hard subject matter, they are easy to read!

We always hear of ways to stage our homes for selling- this article shares how to stage our home for living. It really made me think of what I keep in my home!!

I love this idea! It would be so fun to do with students as a fun activity using books!! It reminds me of the old “game” you can play with fortune cookies when you get one at a Chinese food restaurant- you all have to know this— You read your fortune cookie and add at the end “in bed.” We have laughed so hard over the years with that as the context of the fortune cookie. Of course, when my kids were with us we added “on the pot” instead. Fortune cookies are pretty funny in that context as well.
So here is my favorite book with the phrase added:

When he was nearly thirteen my brother Jem got his arm badly broken at the elbow. And then the murders began.

Things Piquing My Interest on this Peak of the Week!

Here is a list of things piquing my interest on this Peak of the Week! It’s not Hump Day, it’s Wednesday! How to dress when it’s really cold outside. That’s one thing I’m thinking about a lot lately. I hate dragging a coat everywhere, but on these snowy days, it’s a must. These faux leather […]

2021 A Year of Mending

I’ve mentioned several times that I’m using an app to read the bible through this year. I’ve tried to do it many times, and have always quit. This app along with a Facebook group from my church have been huge in keeping me accountable. I am loving having this time set aside to read everyday. […]

Things Piquing My Interest on this Peak of the Week!

It’s Inauguration Day. I’ve seen where many people say they will not watch the Inauguration today. I just don’t understand. I guess we all have different backgrounds by which we view the world, but my parents both stressed history so much in our home. I think we watch every event that was televised when I […]

Martin Luther King Jr.

I encourage you to do as I am doing today and read some of Dr. King’s speeches or sermons. I’m giving you a couple of links to some popular works. Khan Academy- Letter From A Birmingham Jail- lesson 7 Things You May Not Know About MLK’s “I have a dream speech.” I Have A Dream- […]

Book Review- 2 Memoirs Not To Miss

I recently finished two memoirs that are not to be missed. Although the authors are worlds apart, they both inspired me to keep going through difficult circumstances. Two Memoirs Not To Be Missed The first memoir is Kathie Lee Gifford’s, It’s Never Too Late. Gifford tells stories from her long and wide-ranging career. From stories […]
