Peak of the Week-I’m sharing things piquing my interest

September 30, 2020 by Sharon

It’s The Peak of the Week. That means I’m sharing things piquing my interest.

I just came back from a week with my adult kids in Texas. It was a great trip. We laughed A LOT! It was good for my soul. I came back to a 14 day quarantine which is what we have to do in New Mexico if we leave the state. The fun time was worth it. We were super careful and didn’t go anywhere. I walked with a few friends, but that was all I did away from the house. I came back to the start of fall. The leaves are starting to change color here. I love it. I’m sharing some pictures from my morning walk.

I’m Sharing Things Piquing My Interest!

5 Tips From RBG On Raising Daughters

I don’t pretend to know about all of the opinions that RBG issued during her time on the US Supreme Court, but I do know how much she championed women. I love her ideas presented in this article.

RBG’s Landmark Opinion On Women’s Rights

I actually had a friend from high school make the bold statement that he never agreed with any of RBG’s opinions. It was all that I could do to keep from commenting. (I’m really trying so hard to stay our to the negative frey) What I wanted to say to him was that his statement spoke volumes about his attitude about women. This article is about her opinions on women’s rights. We owe her a lot ladies!!

3 Scientists Give Advice On How To Protect Yourself From COVID

It blows my mind that there are still individuals out there who are against wearing masks. I would love to know where they get their information. The bottom line is that you either trust science or you don’t. It’s as simple as that. I have so much I would like to say, but I’m going to just leave it at that.

Blood Type and COVID-19

Does blood type play a role in who gets infected with COVID-19? This has been a topic of conversation in my family for quite some time. This concept came out early on in the pandemic. “People with blood Type O are about 20% to 30% less likely to get infected.”— Amazing!!

October Scripture Writing

Sweet Blessings Blog has her scripture writing for October out. The theme this month is bravery.

Chain Mask Holders

Have you seen these cute mask holders. I slide mine under my chin when I don’t have to wear it, but if I worked, I’d for sure use these. I think these would be great if you have to keep up with a mask all day! Found HERE.

I also think these kids mask holders are really cute. These can be purchased HERE.

What I’m Watching

Keeping Up With The Kardashians. If you have followed my blog for very long, you know I love to watch Trash TV (read here) I admit that I was kind of sad to learn that this season is the last for KUWTK. Not sure what I will watch when it’s over. Thank goodness The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is going to start in a couple of months. I do enjoy the escape!

What I’m Reading

Me Before You (buy it HERE) I have seen the first book in this trilogy on so many book lists, but I just never had an interest. I checked it out on my Overdrive app while I was in Texas and became immediately hooked. It is not at all what I thought it would be. I promise… it is so very good. Don’t delay. Check it our from the library or buy it today!! It’s a movie too. I can’t wait to watch it.

Me Before You

Area I’m Working On

I pretty much have all of my fall decor out. I have to wait until my 14 day quarantine before I can go buy mums and pumpkins for the front porch. I’m still thinking about our backyard landscaping. I found out that we have to get our HOA’s approval for what we do in our backyard. YIKES! Hey- I lived on 30 acres in Texas. I’m not used to having to get approval for anything!

How about you? What is piquing your interest this week? I’d love to know.
