Peak of the Week- Here are some things that piqued my interest this week

February 22, 2017 by Sharon

It’s Wednesday- the peak of the week!! I hope all is well for everyone!

Gut Bacteria
I know read every article that I find on gut c. It really is a fascinating subject. I am trying really hard to be sure that I eat so that the bacteria in my gut will keep me healthy. Here is the latest article that I’ve read on the subject.

Free Pictures to use online
When I was a librarian, I went to Austin every year to a technology conference- TCEA. I learned so much every year. They shared a list compiled by an attendee of places online to find pictures to use online!

60 year old starts running!!
I loved this because it shows that it is never too late to do something that we really want. Since I am struggling with getting back into running in my own life, this article really spoke to me.

Neti Pot  – I use a neti pot twice a day right now. I will have to use a neti pot at least once a day for the rest of my life. This article made the rounds on social media this past week. I had a conversation about this at my last appointment because I was going to be traveling to California and I wanted to know if it was OK for me to use bottled water instead of the purified water that I normally use. He told me that I can use tap water. The chances of getting the ameba are very slim.

Since I am perimenopausal- This article was good
So many of my friends have had issues with menopause and I want to make sure that I am as healthy as I can be while experiencing all of the changes going on in my body.

Things Piquing My Interest on this Peak of the Week!

Here is a list of things piquing my interest on this Peak of the Week! It’s not Hump Day, it’s Wednesday! How to dress when it’s really cold outside. That’s one thing I’m thinking about a lot lately. I hate dragging a coat everywhere, but on these snowy days, it’s a must. These faux leather […]

2021 A Year of Mending

I’ve mentioned several times that I’m using an app to read the bible through this year. I’ve tried to do it many times, and have always quit. This app along with a Facebook group from my church have been huge in keeping me accountable. I am loving having this time set aside to read everyday. […]

Things Piquing My Interest on this Peak of the Week!

It’s Inauguration Day. I’ve seen where many people say they will not watch the Inauguration today. I just don’t understand. I guess we all have different backgrounds by which we view the world, but my parents both stressed history so much in our home. I think we watch every event that was televised when I […]

Martin Luther King Jr.

I encourage you to do as I am doing today and read some of Dr. King’s speeches or sermons. I’m giving you a couple of links to some popular works. Khan Academy- Letter From A Birmingham Jail- lesson 7 Things You May Not Know About MLK’s “I have a dream speech.” I Have A Dream- […]

Book Review- 2 Memoirs Not To Miss

I recently finished two memoirs that are not to be missed. Although the authors are worlds apart, they both inspired me to keep going through difficult circumstances. Two Memoirs Not To Be Missed The first memoir is Kathie Lee Gifford’s, It’s Never Too Late. Gifford tells stories from her long and wide-ranging career. From stories […]
