Peak of the Week- A list of things that piqued my interest 5-1-19

May 1, 2019 by Sharon

There may be some things you miss unless you click here to go out to the blog to read.

It’s spring in my beautiful New Mexico mountains. These pictures are courtesy of my pastor, Mike Brake. He took them not far from our little town in the mountains!!

Happy Peak of the Week! Here is a list of things piquing my interest this week. I hope you find them interesting too. Let me know what you think!!

We don’t move on from grief. We move forward with it.– I love TED talks. This one on grief was very interesting!! TED talks are never longer than 18 minutes. This one is right at 15 minutes. It’s worth the time!! “Everyone you love has a 100% chance of dying.”
Y’all, this one is good. It is a must watch. Please let me know your thoughts afterward!!

The Reality of Growth and Grief– I knew within a few months that I wanted to grow from this terrible experience. I’m not sure I agree with everything presented in this article, but my experience has been tremendous personal growth, but I WILLED that for my life. I felt my loss would be in vain if I didn’t. I realize that isn’t everyone’s experience so I feel this is a very valid article. Again, I’d love to know your thoughts!!

Jeopardy – I’m fascinated by this newest big winner!!

When 200K people Sing Journey– This will make you smile!!

Lubbock Church’s Design Inspired By Notre Dame– When I was in college at Texas Tech, this was the church I attended!! It is beautiful. I never knew its connection with Notre Dame until now.

Have a great rest of your week!! It’s all downhill from here!!

She turned to the things she loved to help in her grief: faith, family, and friends. Her love of words and writing became the cathartic venue by which she began to process her loss. It can’t possibly be time for our February monthly goals check-in! I’m truly shocked at how quickly February went by. It just seems like I’m strapped to a rocket flying through the year, and I don’t know how to slow it down. I think that it why for me it’s so important to do regular […]

I’m A Gandy! (Granny)

Yes! You read that correctly. Earlier this year, I became a Gandy. At least, that’s what I hope that my sweet little granddaughter and every grandchild after will call me! I’ve had several months to think of what I wanted to be called, but honestly, I’ve been thinking of it a lot longer than that. […]
