Peak of the Week 7-14-20

July 15, 2020 by Sharon

Wow, it’s been over a month since I’ve done a Peak of the Week. I’ve missed being on the lookout for new and exciting articles out there. Hopefully, you will appreciate what has been piquing my interest on this Wednesday, The Peak of the Week.
July 30th World Day Against Trafficking in Persons – I am not a conspiracy theory person at all, but the recent questions about an online business possibly selling children through its popular site has brought this terrible problem back to the forefront for me personally. I will not say the name of the company because I don’t want to call attention to it if it isn’t right, but I do want to draw attention to July 30th. Even the United Nations acknowledges this day. Please read this article I’ve shared from them. The thought of anyone being trafficked for any reason makes me ill, but the idea of children being sold for the sex industry does something to me that I can’t even put into words. Please don’t live in your bubble any more if you don’t know about this terrible issue in our world and especially in our great country. I have an email out to a dear childhood friend who works all over the world and whom I trust on this issue. I’ll let you know what she shares with me.
My personal Facebook account was cloned a couple of weeks ago. I reported it as soon as people started letting me know they were getting a friend request from me. Facebook took it down immediately. I had been meaning to hide my friend list but hadn’t done it yet. The reason an account gets cloned is to gain access to other accounts to be able to send requests for money etc. If you hide your friend list, your account becomes useless to the people who want access to your friends. This video shows how to hide your friends on Facebook.  I hope it helps!!
Facebook Cloning or Hacking– I found this article on Facebook account cloning and hacking very informative.
Carona Vaccine Trial Produced Robust Immune Response–  Are we going to finally start getting some good news?? I sure hope so.
What I’m Focusing On– I’m finishing up redoing my closet. I hope to have a post about it on Friday.
What I’m Reading– Hello Summer by Mary Kay Andrews (I really like this one!!)
Get Out Of Your Head by Jennie Allen (this is my long-distance book study
that I do with my friend in Texas) It is all about stopping toxic thoughts.

What I’m Watching– We have been watching Dirty John Season 2- The Betty Broderick Story. I remember when this happened, but I had no idea what all her husband put her through. It’s been good.
Well- This is about it for this week? What do you think of what is piquing my interest this week? What is piquing yours? I’d love to know!!
It’s not Hump Day. It’s the Peak of the Week. The best day!! It’s all downhill from here.

After her husband’s sudden and unexpected death, Sharon McCuistian found herself a widow at the age of 48. With two grown children in college, Sharon had to find a way to live in her new reality. She turned to the things she loved to help in her grief: faith, family, and friends. Her love of words and writing became the cathartic venue by which she began to process her loss. Things Piquing My Interest #89. Wow- 89 posts of sharing things that are of interest to me seem impossible, but I’ve been doing this for quite some time.
