How To Update A Narrow Bathroom

October 27, 2020 by Sharon

Guest Bathroom Décor Ideas Are Tricky

How to Update A narrow bathroom? Guest bathroom décor ideas are tricky. It needs to appeal to everyone who will be visiting your home. I always love to add a bit of whimsy too which is sometimes hard to to in a bathroom.

In a world where color pallets seem to be white on white on white, I always love some color. That’s why I decided to go with a lot of color in this bathroom.

It won’t stay these colors. This is still in it’s summer, warm colors. I’ll probably change things up for winter next year. It’s still too new to change right now!!

Long Narrow Bathroom Design

Every bathroom in my house is a long narrow bathroom. One solution that I’ve found to help with the making them not look so cookie cutter is to add a runner instead of bath mats.

I’m very lucky that we have radiant heating in our house. I can’t tell you how good it feels to walk down the hall barefoot in the winter and feel warmth beneath my feet. But if I didn’t have warm floors, these runners would be magic in the bathroom. You’d never step on a cold floor again!

Like I said before, I love a bit of whimsy in my house. This rug adds whimsy for me in this space. Since I live in the New Mexico mountains, I wanted a touch of the Southwest. My problem is that I don’t really care for Southwest design.

This rug is perfect for what I wanted!

Purchased at Walmart.

The rug designs are a bit southwest, but the colors are more to my liking. This rug became the focal point that I chose all other colors around.

Rug can be purchased HERE.

Rod can be purchased HERE.

I know I said earlier that I didn’t like Southwest design, but I did fall in love with this rug when I was looking through the Walmart site. I think I may use this rug for inspiration next fall for this bath.

I love this runner so much. It reminds me when my kids were little and their bathroom had a fish theme. It would be perfect in a kids’ bathroom!

It can be purchased HERE.

These towels are so soft. The color matches the color that runs throughout he rug. The can be purchased HERE. I’ll be buying more sets of these towels.

Bathroom Refresh

Overall, I’m pleased with my bathroom refresh! It has certainly added some much needed color.

How about you? Do you like color or do you stick to more whites, beiges and earth tones?

Do you like a bit of whimsy?

It’s all about you and what you like in your home!!

Don’t Miss Out On My Christmas Décor Share Post!

I’m going to do a post on Christmas decor on December 5th, my mother’s birthday. She is a fabulous decorator! I’d love to share some pictures from your home. I know so many of you do such cute things for Christmas. Please email me at sharon@nowchooselife.net with some pictures by Monday, December 1st. It’s OK if it is a picture from Christmas past!! We can all gain some ideas if we all share.

I love looking at what some of you have done to decorate. It can be a picture of a whole room or a small vignette of a small area or tablescape. I want to see it all!!!

I sure hope you’ll share!!
