Happy New Year-I’m Hopeful For 2021

Happy New Year!! I’m hopeful for 2021. How about you? We have all been through a hard year, but I can say with certainty that 2020 doesn’t come close to the hardest year I’ve ever faced. I know many of you can’t say the same. I understand the pain of a most painful year, and I hope that 2021 is much better!!

2020 was a collective year like no other we’ve ever faced. We were all facing the same enemy- COVID-19. The virus ended up affecting us all in different ways, but it was still a collective experience on many levels. We were all asked to handle the pandemic the same way- masks, social distancing, staying away from others who we don’t live with. Some of us followed these guidelines, and some of us didn’t. It is America after all; it was our choice.

If 2020 taught us anything it showed us that everyone handles adversity differently!! We were all living with the same pandemic and the same presidential election, but I remain fascinated with the different ways people dealt with them. I think sociologists will be researching 2020 for a very long time!!

I love a fresh start. I love new beginnings. I love the innocence of not knowing what the year is going to bring! I love the first day of the new year because I find so much hope in it!! There is one thing that is the great equalizer among us and that is time. We are all given the same amount of time in every year. What we do with that time is completely up to us. Some people have more money, better health, more days with loved ones, a bigger house, a better job… But time is our great equalizer. I hope to use my time wisely!! If I live to be 90, I only have 33 more Christmases, Thanksgivings, New Year Eves, Birthdays— I’ve got a lot of living to still do!! 2021 is going to be a great year with a whole lot of living being done by me!!!

I walked 4.5 miles with friends first thing this morning X Exercise every day

I read today’s reading from my bible app X Read The Bible Through In A Year

Two of my main 2021 goals accomplished today. Now I only have 364 days more to go!!

How about you- do you set goals for the new year? I’d love to hear them!!

Thoughts VS Beliefs

Thoughts VS Beliefs is a topic I’ve been thinking a lot about lately. Many different thoughts run through my brain on any given day. Taming those thoughts through my belief system is a must. My beliefs are what I consider to be the foundation of my life. “God is in control” “Everything will be OK” […]

I Gave Up Participating On Facebook For Lent

I gave up participating on Facebook for Lent. I learned a lot in the process. Facebook is simply a tool which is only as good as the person using it. I would have loved to have completely stepped away, but I’m in a couple of online groups that meet through Facebook so I couldn’t. Being […]
