February Monthly Goals Check-In

February 28, 2023 by Sharon

monthly goals

It can’t possibly be time for our February monthly goals check-in! I’m truly shocked at how quickly February went by. It just seems like I’m strapped to a rocket flying through the year, and I don’t know how to slow it down. I think that it why for me it’s so important to do regular self check-ins to see if I’m on the path I need to be on to reach my goals. This year, I’m brining you along to hopefully add some value to your progression throughout the year.

We are 2/12 or 1/6 ( if I remember fractions correctly) through 2023. We have lived 59 of our 365 days of this year if we are blessed with that many.

How are we living these days and months? How are we Choosing Life?

March is a fresh start. Spring is synonymous with rebirth. Let’s all take this opportunity for a fresh start!

Let’s Talk About Goals

The end of each month is a great time to revisit goals that you’ve set for the year or the month. What are your goals for the year? What were your goals for the month of February.

What Went Well

What went well as far as attaining your goals during this month? What do you feel good about? What were some wins that you had this month?

What Didn’t Go Well?

Don’t beat yourself up if you aren’t where you want to be with goals.

It doesn’t matter if you’ve blown the first two months of the year and not accomplished anything. March is going to be a fresh start. What do you need to do to get back on the path that gets you closer to your vision for your life?

The thing we all need to remember is that time is moving forward. What am I doing. Am I in stagnation mode, or am I moving forward too? I don’t want December of 2023 to roll around and for me to be in the same place I am right now. I want to be healthier physically, mentally/ emotionally, and spiritually.

Action Plan

What are some steps you can take in March to get you closer to attaining your goals? When my first husband passed away, I attended GriefShare, a grief support group. The first session we learned the phrase, Do The Next Thing. I have never forgotten that. For some people in horrible grief, the Next Thing is to simply put feet on the floor and get our of bed. I have told myself that simple phrase many times over the past 10+ years since his passing.

No one can live my life but me. I am responsible for putting one foot in front of the other. What is your Do The Next Thing? Let’s all make sure it’s The Next RIGHT Thing!!

The Most Important Question To Ask Yourself- What Did I Carry in January?

You may need to divide this question into a “good” and “bad” list. Some of the things we carry are good for us and can act as great motivation in life. However, some things we carry are not good for us and only weigh us down.

Good List Examples:

Joy, Happiness, Contentment, Wonder

Bad List Examples:

Guilt, Regret, Fear

Identifying what we are carrying in our daily lives is the start of eliminating the negative and fostering the positive.

Self Reflection is key for a life well lived. How are you CHOOSING LIFE each day?
