I recently finished two memoirs that are not to be missed. Although the authors are worlds apart, they both inspired me to keep going through difficult circumstances.
Two Memoirs Not To Be Missed
The first memoir is Kathie Lee Gifford’s, It’s Never Too Late. Gifford tells stories from her long and wide-ranging career. From stories about singing in prisons to dealing with her husband’s infidelity, Gifford finds her strength in God in all circumstances. Her life certainly hasn’t been perfect, but she knows that her Lord is perfect in all things.

I highly recommend this easy read if you are looking to be inspired.
Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey is another recent memoir that I thoroughly enjoyed. McConaughey tells stories and shows how episodes in his life were red lights, yellow lights, or green lights.
One story of particular interest to me was the time he visited The Monastery of Christ In The Desert. I have always wanted to visit this monastery since I developed a deep friendship with a college professor on a flight to Albuquerque who recommended it to me. It is an interesting story. And, if you are ever in northern New Mexico, I recommend visiting this monastery.

If you have followed me for very long, you know that memoir and biography is my favorite genre. I am fascinated by peoples’ lives. If you like to read about how others have overcome adversity, you can’t go wrong with either of these books.
