Beautycounter: Clean Beauty

September 19, 2020 by Sharon

Care for aging skin is always a hot topic. We have so many choices from high end to low end products. It can be a daunting task to know what products really work, and more importantly what are truly clean beauty products. Beautycounter is a safe and effective line of clean beauty products.

I had a very bad experience with Botox a year  ago. I had used it for fine lines on my forehead several times before, but I went to someone new in Santa Fe before my son’s wedding. My experience was so bad, I will never get Botox again. I knew after that I needed to find SAFE ways to care for my skin. This post is the first of several that I plan on sharing about how I will help my skin age without Botox!!

I found a line of products that are safe and truly effective. I was told about Beautycounter from a friend at my church. To be honest, I bought my first product, sunscreen, from her because I love her sweet spirit, and wanted to support her in her business.

Beautycounter is Safe and Effective Clean Beauty

I had never heard of Beautycounter so I was a bit skeptical. She assured me that this sunscreen was both safe and effective. I was going to put it to the test on a trip to Florida. The Florida sun was going to be a great test of this product.

Dr. T had a conference in Orlando. I had no plans except to workout in the mornings and lay by the pool reading all afternoon– Heaven. I knew I couldn’t last all week without good sunscreen.

I did use a sun umbrella most days, but I was in the sun several hours each day. I can honestly say, I was sold on Beautycounter on that trip. Not only did I not burn, I really didn’t even tan. The sun was completely blocked the entire time. I feel that Beautycounter sunscreen would be perfect for small children.

I believe in the products so much. I thought it would be fun to let Laura tell you about the company and what makes the products different.

Let me let you meet Laura! She will be answering some questions, and can be your consultant if you don’t know anyone who sells Beautycounter.

Interview with Laura: Beautycounter is clean beauty.

What brought you to Beautycounter?

When I learned that the beauty care industry isn’t regulated and that the US only bans 30 chemicals in the formulations of our health and beauty products, I was ready to speak up. I wanted to be part of this B Corporation: Put People and Planet Before Profit! (a company like Patagonia) Go HERE to read more about B Corporations.

I want to advocate, educate and care for my loved ones and make the world a healthier and safer place to live.

I want to be a part of a company that creates products that truly perform while holding ourselves to unparalleled standards of safety!

How is Beautycounter different from other skincare lines?

At Beautycounter, we are committed to a health and safety standard that goes well beyond what is legally required in the United States. Over 1,800 ingredients are never used in our formulations—we call this The Never List™—and we go above and beyond to test every ingredient against our high standards in pursuit of clean beauty. Did you know that the word “Fragrance” listed in a product’s ingredients can hide all sorts of bad ingredients and the company doesn’t have to tell what they are under this “category”?

Do you know where the shiny mineral Mica is sourced? Beautycounter uncovered the dirty little secret and will only practice responsible sourcing methods!

Beautycounter educates the public about the need for safer products and how to avoid harmful ingredients.

We advocate for more health-protective laws, urging the government to pass laws to better regulate the beauty industry. We are calling ourselves the leaders in Clean Beauty because we are!
