After her husband’s sudden and unexpected death, Sharon McCuistian found herself a widow at the age of 48. With two grown children in college, Sharon had to find a way to live in her new reality. She turned to the things she loved to help in her grief: faith, family, and friends. Her love of words and writing became the cathartic venue by which she began to process her loss. It is through her grief journey that Now Choose Life was born.
Deuteronomy 30:19 is the foundation for Now Choose Life. “This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.” “Choosing Life” is how Sharon hopes to encourage everyone to live in life after loss.
She now lives in the beautiful mountains of New Mexico, where her love of exercise, hiking, and writing has been the catalyst to rebuild her life with her second husband, Trent. She strives to help others deal with the grief and hardships of life in the “after” through her writing, church work, grief support leadership, and public speaking.
